Research Methodology

In real life, knowingly or unknowingly all of us are doing some sort of research in a small way or another way while solving some problems without maintaining proper documentation for them. Research methodology is a process by which we resolve a research problem using a systematic approach and come out with a feasible solution and document the overall process along with earlier literature well for future reference.  

In the term Research, ‘Re’ means Again and ‘Search’ means to find out something new and relevant. Research is simply a collection and evaluation of various information about the predecessor work done and about current work, that scholar is carrying out of certain discipline/subject domain.

In other words, Research is basically meant to repeat the search from the current work/product/methodology/knowledge/information, etc. to generate a new type of product/methodology/knowledge/information in a way that is easy to use.

 This could include synthesizing and analyzing past research to the point where it results in new and creative outputs. The research problem is the driving force behind a researcher's decision to do research. It might be a practical or a theoretical problem to increase knowledge.

The overall goal of any research project is to come up with new concepts that are easy to understand and provide a superior alternative to the prior one by maintaining honesty, research integrity, Privacy, ethical standards, etc.


Areas of Research

One can do the research in the following areas but is not limited.

  1. Science and Technology (Mathematical Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Material Science, Environmental Sciences, Energy Sciences Agricultural and veterinary Sciences, Engineering, Petroleum, Pharmacy, etc.)
  2. Commerce and Management (It includes Businesses, Banks, Trade, Market, Organizations, etc.)
  3. Humanities (Social science which includes, Geography, History, Languages, Sociology, Political Science, Home Economics, Law, etc.)
  4. Interdisciplinary (Physical Education, Social work, Library Science, Mass Communication, etc.)
